Our Process:

Step 1: Secure Philanthropic Capital

Our foundation raises $50,000 — which is the maximum sponsorship we will contribute to a SECONDS salary over a 12-month cycle if they meet all other qualifications.


Step 2: We Identify THE ONE

We source a youth focused social impact leader who is in the pre-hiring process of a SECOND Seat role — and also fulfills other core qualities that signal they are THE ONE.


Step 3: We Handoff THE ONE

The H2B2 team implements their proven Matchmaking Model that not only aligns competence and qualifications but unlocks the trusted connection with a SECOND.


Step 4: Sponsorship Alignment

Part of How To Be Second’s Matchmaking process is setting 12-month milestones, metrics, and standards for the SECONDS first cycle with the social impact organization.


Step 5: We Sponsor the SECOND

In addition to the SECOND being hired by the social impact organization — our foundation contracts them on a monthly stipend to sponsor their added salary.


Step 6: Follow-On SECOND Support

The H2B2 team provides the SECOND with personal and professional development while we actively continue fundraising their sponsored salary for up to 36 months.
